Seminar on CAP, Climate Change & Water challenges


EUREAU is the European Federation of National Associations of Water and Waste Water Services.

EUREAU’s members collectively provide sustainable water services to around 405 millions Europeans.

Within the framework of the current discussions on the Common Agricultural Policy “Health Check”, Ms K. BUITENWEG (MEP, Rapporteur on the CAP Health Check in the Environment Committee of the European Parliament) and EUREAU, are happy to invite you to a half-day seminar on February 11th to discuss some key challenges as set out in the CAP Health Check Communication and especially shared by the water sector: climate change, water sustainability, water management and biodiversity.

This seminar is a concrete participation to the EU Parliament and Commission’s initiative to organize a dialogue with the different stakeholders directly or indirectly involved in framing the future of integrated water resources management.

The seminar will aim at exchanging with you as regards the policies, actions and measures necessary to address those challenges, as well as the responses we will need in the future to ensure that we have both, a sustainable agriculture and a sustainable protection of water resources.

The seminar will take place on February 11th 2008, from 9.30am to 1.00pm, in the European

Parliament in Brussels, room PHS 1C47. For organizational purpose and to secure your entry to the European Parliament, may we ask you to register (see registration form attached) to secretariat@eureau.org before the 6th of February 2008.
