REFIT Water Framework Directive
The European Commission released yesterday several studies that will be considered in the WFD REFIT evaluation.

The BLUE2 Study was also published, consisting of four reports focusing on the economic aspects of the WFD:
“The Economic Value of Water - Water as a Key Resource for Economic Growth in the EU” by ECORYS:
“Testing a methodology to assess the costs and benefits of the implementation of the EU water acquis in selected river basins” by IEEP:
“Assessment of the Water Productivity Index” by ECORYS:
“Review of alternative water allocation options”
All these documents will inform the evaluation process of the EU water policy.
The public consultation on the WFD is still open until the 11 March 2019, you can access it here:
A targeted stakeholders consultation will follow, up to the 22 March.
The Commission report on the evaluation is expected to be available by Autumn 2019.
