Nature based solutions for water resource management - European workshop

Evidence exists that investing in nature can reduce the costs of delivering water security whilst generating significant co-benefits, for biodiversity, climate and rural livelihoods. Nature based solutions for water resources management (NBS4WRM) have been used for centuries in Europe but are still relatively small-scale. In view of climate change pressures, rapidly deteriorating freshwater biodiversity and the needs to achieve water quality objectives under the Water Framework Directive, it is urgent to accelerate investments in these solutions.
The Nature Conservancy is a global NGO working to protect land and water on which people and nature thrive. We would like to contribute our expertise in the area of nature based solutions for water resource management around the globe to support European actors to exchange their experiences and identify practical levers to accelerate investments in these solutions.
Participation to the event is free. We would be grateful if you could confirm your participation by clicking on the link below. We will circulate a detailed agenda and indicative list of participants early in the new year.

Sophie Tremolet (TNC Senior Water Advisor - Europe)
