Making Europe a safer place: demonstrating the impact of EU-funded security research

The European Commission and the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology cordially invite you to participate in the 2018 Security Research Event (SRE) taking place on 5 and 6 of December 2018 in Brussels at the Square Meeting Centre.
Please note that participation is subject to previous registration that needs to be completed by 30 October 2018 at the latest at the following address: sre2018.eu

Conference overview
The SRE is the annual conference where industry, public authorities and knowledge institutions come together to discuss the state of play and future challenges for security research in Europe, and where a selection of EU funded security-related projects are displayed in a large exhibition area.
Under the theme "Making Europe a safer place - demonstrating the impact of EU-funded security research", SRE 2018 will demonstrate the strength and inspiring results of security related research and innovation activities. The event will bring together 800 participants, representing a wide range of security stakeholders: researchers, industry representatives, public security providers and practitioners (i.e. fire departments, police, border guards, intelligence agencies, etc.), as well as policymakers from across Europe.

Dissemination and outreach of projects will be the cornerstone of the conference's discussions. The first day of the conference will be dedicated to high-level panels and a dinner reception will be hosted by the Austrian Presidency. The second day will be dedicated to thematic panels debating the overarching theme in security related areas of Border management, Citizens awareness, Cybercrime, Protection of public spaces, Maritime Security, Disaster resilient societies, Terrorism and Radicalisation. Even more so, during the two-day event up to 50 projects, representing the different areas of EU security research will be showcasing their research results in the large exhibition area.

The draft conference agenda is available now on the SRE website.
