EurEau elects new Executive Committee

Brussels, 15 May 2017: The voice of Europe’s water sector elected its new executive board on Friday in Paris.

The executive board remains largely unchanged from that nominated in 2015, with Bruno Tisserand (FP2E, France) staying on as president.

Speaking after his re-election, Bruno stated “I’m very pleased that EurEau members trust me to continue putting water on the EU agenda. Water is central to our economy and society. I will pursue our goals of ensuring that drinking water is protected and wastewater is treated to better serve our consumers and the environment while securing investment in the sector.”

Top of Bruno’s agenda for the next two years is to further strengthen EurEau’s relations with the federation’s 200 experts, 32 member organisations and with the EU institutions. With the EU set to review and revise the water legislation over the coming years, communication and coordination with all parties are crucial to achieving the goals of the sector.

Europe’s water sector needs considerable investment if it is to meet social and environmental goals set by the EU. EurEau is ready to take the next step with its members and the EU institutions.

Bruno is supported by the secretariat in Brussels and vice presidents Dr Claudia Castell-Exner (DVGW, Germany) and Carl-Emil Larsen (DANVA, Denmark).

Arjen Frentz (Vewin, The Netherlands) chairs the committee on drinking water, Greet De Gueldre and Jean-Pierre Silan (Belgaqua, Belgium) will co-chair the committee on waste water, and Klara Ramm (Economic Chamber Polish Waterworks, Poland) will take over as chair of the committee on economic and legal affairs. The new executive committee is composed of Mariano Blanco Orozco (AEAS, Spain), Dr Claudia Castell-Exner, Carl-Emil Larsen, Anna Linusson (Svenskt Vatten, Sweden) and Mircea Macri (Romanian Water Association, Romania).
