Raising a Glass to 50 Years: EurEau Hosts Europe’s First Tap Water Tasting Journey

In a groundbreaking event, EurEau is proud to present the 1st Tap Water Tasting Journey Across Europe, a unique experience to explore the diverse variety of tap water from across the continent. Taking place in Brussels on 22 May, the event invites attendees on a sensory journey guided by renowned Swedish water sommelier Gunilla Hultgren Karell as part of EurEau's 50th anniversary celebrations.

For the first time, EurEau will showcase eleven tap water samples from across Europe - from the north to the south, and east to west. Each tap water sample reflects the unique characteristics of its local source and tells the story of the region it comes from, whether it comes from a river, a fountain or underground, in Sweden, Slovenia or Spain.

While savouring the diverse tastes, participants will also hear from a EurEau drinking water expert who will explain the process your water takes from source to tap. The message is clear: wherever you travel in Europe, your tap water always meets high quality standards.

The event celebrates the rich diversity of tap water, reinforcing the message that there is no best tap water – every drop is unique.

Oliver Loebel, EurEau’s Secretary General, says "This event demonstrates the rich diversity and quality of Europe's tap water".

EurEau’s Network of Communications Managers organises the event from EurEau’s 38 member organisations, each of which is committed to promoting the value, sustainability and excellence of water.
