EurEau elects President and board

The European Federation of National Associations of Water Services elects a new president, committee chairs and Executive Committee, to oversee the continued protection of Europe’s water consumers and the environment

Pär Dalhielm is re-elected as EurEau President, leading Europe’s water services over what will be a pivotal two years for the sector.

Dalhielm was re-elected by his peers at the General Assembly meeting in Brussels on Friday 23 May. He is the CEO of Svenskt Vatten, the Swedish national organisation for drinking water and wastewater services.

“Water resilience is now firmly at the top of the EU’s agenda, as reflected in the Commission’s decision to appoint a dedicated European Commissioner for Water,” said Dalhielm. “At the same time, we are witnessing a major shift in EU policy priorities. Since water services are fundamental for a resilient EU, I will seek and encourage cross sectoral discussions on water issues”

“I’m honoured that EurEau’s members have entrusted me with a renewed mandate to lead our organisation. Together, we must continue to champion water issues and ensure they remain central to the European agenda. Collaboration is key as we navigate the challenges ahead.”

EurEau also elected new Committee Chairs and executive board.
