The ESPR replaces and extends the Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC in two ways. In addition to energy-related products it covers virtually all physical products. It reinforces the range of ecodesign requirements relating to durability, circularity and the overall reduction of the environmental and climate footprint of products. A transitional regime is set for certain product groups, like water pumps that are governed by Implementing Regulation 547/2012. |
